It’s on at Uniting Church, 7 Denman Street, Yarralumla, 3.00pm-8.00pm
and will still be lots of fun despite the rain.
- Bubbles will need to wait for a break in the rain but all other activities will be as planned.
- Pizza van will ready for orders at 4pm. Buy pizza for dinner or BYO picnic.
- There’ll be tables and chairs inside and we’ll have marquees outside.
- Feel free to bring an outdoor chair so you can sit outside under the marquee if the rain eases.
There is plenty of space inside for all activities. We'll put all the kids activities in one of the main rooms and there are two other rooms for people to use to sit and mingle. There are small tables we can put up for 'picnics'. We'll also put up marquees outside under the trees so if the weather is just drizzly being outside will be an option. You might want to pack a picnic chair in the car in the event the weather lends itself to being outside.
How will it all work?
There'll be signs for everything but it will all be easy to find and enjoy.
- The Soul Defender Truck with the stage for the band will be outside the main room. This has doors opening out to the grass area so you can sit inside and see and hear the band. Or sit out under a marquee. The Morris dancers will perform in this room.
- The pizza truck will be just outside the doors.
- Morris dancers will perform inside - we'll quarantine space in the big room for their performance and for us to dance with them after their performance. Once the performance is finished we'll put up some extra tables and chairs for indoor 'picnics' or bring your picnic rug.
- Bubbles - we can't do bubbles inside but if the rain stops the bubbles will be on outside, or even if it is a little drizzly there are some areas of quite thick tree cover so bubbles can happen under there. We have 60 litres of bubble mix to use!
- Santas mailbox, face painting, clay play, Christmas craft activities and the little kids games will all be inside.
- Afternoon tea - cake, kids fruit and icecreams will be at the kitchen servery.
- Red bows - will be at the servery window in the main room
- First aid - will be with the red bows at the window in the main room
