The National Capital Authority (NCA) has received a works approval application for the construction of two floating saunas on one pontoon and a gangway on land at Yarralumla Beach East on Lake Burley Griffin (Alexandrina Drive Yarralumla). The NCA is seeking public comment on the proposed location, design, and materials to be used in the construction of the saunas.

YRA has applied to the Federal Healthy Waterways Program for a grant to start developing the Yarralumla Wetlands envisaged in NCA’s Yarralumla Bay Master Plan.

On 27 March 2024 the YRA was advised by the National Capital Authority that the National Capital Plan Amendment No. 97 – Block 7 Section 4 Yarralumla (former Australian Forestry School) had been approved by the Commonwealth Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories (The Hon Kristy McBain) and registered on 20 March 2024.
