Brickworks Access Road and Dudley Street Upgrade

Following an unsuccessful appeal to ACAT by a third party, a contractor has been appointed and all approval processes have been finalised, so construction is expected to commence in July or August 2020.

Derelict site cnr Bentham and Hutchins

Access Canberra has advised that the site has now been classified as an “untidy site” and formal action taken under the Planning and Development Act 2007 to improve the look of the site. The YRA will continue to monitor the site and press for action. The YRA is also keen to see the site developed but only after appropriate community consultation on any new development application.

CSIRO and Forestry School Banks St

The former CSIRO and Forestry School site on Banks St is owned by a Sydney charity that is examining its development options. A sub-committee of the YRA has met with the owner’s development advisers and is developing a draft set of community objectives to discuss with them.COVID-19 has delayed the process but YRA will continue to engage with the owners and their representatives.
